Yesi’s Thougthts

A heartfelt, angsty, and emotional roller coaster… those are the first words that come to mind. It had been a long time since I visited Hart’s Boardwalk. This was on my list of highly anticipated books by one of my absolute favorite authors. Did it deliver? Well… Jack sure did make me emotional… not in the best way though… good Lord he put Emery through so much! While I knew that he wouldn’t be a favorite, I don’t think I was fully prepared for the crazy angst that came with being in his world. Emery, bless her heart, she loved that man, no matter what. I think at times she showed glimpses of a strong woman and by end, I fully believe that, but along the way… I wanted to shake some sense into her. Together though…? Yes, the totally belonged to each other.

The Truest Thing is definitely high on the emotional angst and slightly low on the sexy times that we have come to love from this author. If you are a fan of this series or if you are reading this as a standalone, you’ll have to form your own opinion. My feelings are definitely mixed… some good, some not so good, but I sure did keep reading… lol! So did it deliver? Yes…? No…? Still on the fence…? Samantha Young brings your beautiful writing to life with these complex characters… check it out and see if Jack and Emery can steal your heart. I will say that I LOVED being back on Hart’s Boardwalk and can’t wait for more as Ms. Young did leave a few open doors.
